Napoleon Bonaparte

Book report- Part 1
        Napoleon was born in Corsica a small island controlled by France at the time on the 15th of August 1769.
His father was the representative of Corsica in the court of Luis XVI. He was then enrolled into a religious school in 1779 but transferred to a military school a few months later. He started out trying to be a sailor but ended up training to be an artillery soldier. He was commissioned as a second-lieutenant in the  La Fere artillery regiment. He later tried to take over Italy were he planned to dethrone the pope but ended up invading Austria. After that he planned to take Egypt in order to cut off Britons access to trade in India. But a series of battles won and lost degraded the French troops dramatically and in the end Napoleon ditched the army and headed back for France.
